Sliema sports

Sliema offers a variety of sports; it’s possible to practice Scuba Diving on a school no matter if you are a beginner or expert diver, Snorkeling, golf, tennis and squash. There is an abundance of swimming facilities around and even there are swimming clubs and waterpolo clubs at various points along the coast. Sliema has also football clubs and the most successful of them is the Sliema Wanderers, having won the domestic league no less than 26 times. They won the last three championships in a row and are also the leading club in waterpolo, winning a total of 29 leagues.

All of these make Sliema a leading city in two main sports on Malta. The Sliema ASC club are the most successful club in Malta's waterpolo history, they have been dominating the waterpolo scene since 1912, managing to collect a massive 29 league wins.
