Picasso Museum
The Picasso Museum is located in Buenavista Palace, a representative building of Renaissance in Anadalusia, It was built, as a fulfilment of a lifelong wish of Pablo Picasso, by the Junta de Andalucia and his heirs, daughter-in-law Chrinstine Ruiz-Picasso and grandson Bernard Ruiz-Picasso. Both relatives of the artist decided to donate more than 200 works from their private collections to the art gallery in gratification to the passion of the people for the artist. These works are in different styles, materials and techniques that cover all the creative periods of the artist’s work and include creations from his youth to those which he signed at the end of his life. Also, there are temporary exhibitions held on topics relating to Picasso.

Archaeological Museum
The museum is located in the La Alcazaba castle/fortress and it is found in several of the internal courtyards with a typical Moorish decoration and a Mudejar ceiling. It contains important archaeological findings from the Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Gothic and Moorish eras. During the restoration of La Alcazaba was found many of the findings. The most impressive exhibitions include Roman sculptures and mosaics, and Arab ceramics and a Prehistoric collection which where found near the Pileta and Victoria caves region.

Museum of Fine Arts
The museum is located on the old palace of the Buenavista Counts, it’s a extraordinary structure, built between 1530 and 1540, featuring a Renaissance façade and a cloistered patio.
Museum of Fine Arts shows paintings, sculptures, furniture and ceramics from the Gothic, Renaissance and the Baroque period on the ground floor. There are Baroque pieces and Romantic pieces. The other floors contain exhibits of the contemporary art, mainly by Malagan artists. There are also a room with works of Picassa.

Museo Aula del Mar – Aquarium of Malaga
The Museo Aula del Mar is an impressive aquatic museum featuring all sorts of marine flora and fauna of the Alboran Sea and contains many specimens of around hundred different species. This museum is the unique centre dedicated to protect the endangered sea animals like dolphins and sea turtles and has exhibits featuring life at sea, which contain ships, scale models and fishing tools.

Cathedral Museum
Also known as the “Catedral de la Encarnación”, it was built in 1528 and took over two centuries to construct. The Cathedral Contains almost all the architectural styles from the 16th to the 18th centuries. It has a mainly gothic style, built over what was one a Mulsim mosque and it has a Renaissance interior with a Baroque main entrance.
One of the towers of the Cathedral was not completely finished, for this reason the locals affectionately call their Cathedral “The One-armed lady” (La Manquita). The museum contains works of art, mainly religious paintings, sculptures and manuscripts, beautiful representations of the Virgin as she was imagined by many artitsts.
